Stamp N Scrap 4 Fun

Easel Card

I came across a tutorial recently on SCS for this easel card and decided to try it.  I just love cards with a different fold or twist.  The first one is a 4" square card.

Supplies used to make this card:

Cardstock:  Real Red, Very Vanilla

DSP:  Merry Moments

Stampsets:  Dasher, Four the Holidays and Serene Snowflakes

Ink:  Soft Suede

Accessories:  silver brad, dimensionals

This is the first easel card I made, not overly happy with it, but let me know what you think.  It is a standard 4.25 x 5.5" card, and I was really going after the fall theme with it.

Cardstock:  Cameo Coral, Really Rust, More Mustard, Garden Green

DSP:  Autumn Meadows

Stampsets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink:  Soft Suede

Accessories:  Crimper, clear buttons, word window punch, modern label punch, dimensionals

Customer Appreciation Day

Hi Stampers,

The More the Merrier

Just a couple of quick samples for your stamping pleasure today.  I'm playing around with some ideas for my Christmas cards this year, and am really liking these adorable snowmen from the Level 3 Hostess set "The More the Merrier".  The first card is a "case'd" technique from Barbs' card (see yesterdays post).  This time I've used the Textured Impressions Folder..Petals-A-Plenty (116824) on Soft Suede cardstock, then embossed with iridescente emb powd.  I stamped the snowmen on our Shimmery White cardstock(101910) for some extra glitter.

This next sample uses a non SU embossing folder, and our AMAZING NEW Shimmer Paint found in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  I mixed a few drops of the shimmer paint with rubbing alcohol, then sprayed the soft suede cardstock with it.  It gives the cardstock a nice subtle sparkle.

Stamping Fun in Comox

Hi Stampers,

Last Saturday was our VanIsle demo get-together in Nanaimo.  We meet twice a year, bring potluck, do make n takes, demos' and stamp, stamp, stamp.  Oh! and visit and chat too!  It really is a fun event, and I can hardly wait for the next one in the spring. 

Now, you're probably wondering what this has to do with Comox?   lol  On my way down, I stayed with my friend Barb in Comox.  She is a wonderful friend/hostess (also makes the best sushi in the world), and always has a bed for me.  On this trip, she was having one of her ladies stamp club on the Friday night and I got to sit in....so much fun to be the student and see how other demos do things.  We can always learn a trick or two from each other.  These are the 2 cards Barb had us do.  It was a "glittery" night for sure. 

The bashful blue layer on this card, was run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder, then we smooshed (yes that is a stamping term)  Versamark over the whole layer and finished it off with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Amazing!! how it glitters in real life.  Hopefully you can see some of it here.  Remember to see the pictures larger, just click on them!

For this card we did the same technique with the Versamark and embossing powder, only used the Delightful Decorations stampset  (116517), Ornament Punch (116794), and the Holiday Lounge DSP (115676).

Farewell to Mollie

Hi friends,

For today I'm breaking from my usual posts about stamping and scrapping, to pay tribute to my sweet Mollie, who we had put to rest on Sept. 29th.  She was our 13 year old pommeranian.  She was diagnosed with Cushings (cancer) just under one year ago.  Amid all the tears and sorrow, I'm now starting to focus on all the joyous times we had with her.  We called her the "princess",  since she was a purebred and really seemed to know it, our other fur child Maggie is a pom/poodle cross without the purebred attitude.  I'm so thankful that my husband suggested that I do their scrapbook last winter right after Mollie got sick, it is easier now to look at the pages than it would be to create them. 

Since so many of you have shared heartfelt poems and stories of your own pet loss, and asked me to share pictures, I decided to do this feature today.  Hope you enjoy these pics of my "children with fur"

Fancy Favor Box

Check out this adorable box made with the Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Die for your Big Shot!  This little creation uses 4 of the boxes taped together using our super duper Sticky Strip.  The paper I used is the To The Nines DSP, it's textured paper, so I thought it would be a little sturdier.  For the bottom strip to finish it all off I used a co-ordinating pattern and the eyelet border punch.  The butterflies are also from a Big Shot die.  Looks very nice on your craft table holding all your essential tools.  For more pictures of this sweet little project, check page 2 of the Stampin' Up!
